Mr Neil Humphreys

Singapore's best-selling author, radio host and podcaster

Neil Humphreys arrived in Singapore in 1996 with a suitcase, no job and very little money to stay with a Singaporean friend from university. Within five years, he was a best-selling author. He has since written 30 books. 

Among them, his works on Singapore – from Notes from an Even Smaller Island to Saving a Sexier Island: Notes from an Old Singapore– are some of the most popular titles in the last 20 years. His book Be My Babychronicled his journey to parenthood and was his first international best-seller.  

He has also written crime fiction (Inspector Low series), YA fiction (PRINCESS INCOGNITO series, Awful Agatha series) and created an award-winning series of illustrated children’s books (Abbie Rose and the Magic Suitcase)about a young girl on a mission to save endangered animals and protect their fragile homes. which has been endorsed by both the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Jane Goodall. Both Inspector Low and Abbie Rose and the Magic Suitcase are currently being adapted into TV series. 

 A popular columnist,  Humphreys also writes extensively for newspapers, magazines and television shows in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and the UK. He co-hosts radio shows for MONEY FM.
