Ms Sun Xueling

Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of Social and Family Development

Ms Sun Xueling was elected a Member of Parliament in September 2015. She currently holds the position of Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development.   

Ms Sun served in the Ministry of Education from 2020 – 2022 and had also served in the Ministries of Home Affairs and National Development from 2018 – 2020.   

Ms Sun has been an active advocate for women’s progress and children development.   

She led several legislatives changes that protected women’s rights through the Women’s Charter in Singapore and also spearheaded landmark legislation on Family Violence. She has also been active in promoting accessible, affordable and quality childcare in Singapore and is a member of the Inter-agency Taskforce on Youth Mental Well-being.   

Before entering politics, Ms Sun spent more than a decade in the private sector in finance and investments. She received her Master of Science in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and also holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics from the National University of Singapore.
