Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media and Communications Intern to join our team. This role will provide valuable hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and communications strategies. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media, has a keen eye for detail, and possesses strong writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Management:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of social media strategies across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
    • Schedule and publish posts, ensuring consistent brand messaging and tone.
    • Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities and respond to comments and messages in a timely manner.
    • Track and analyse social media metrics to assess the performance of campaigns and suggest improvements.
  2. Content Creation:

    • Create engaging and visually appealing content, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
    • Brainstorm and develop content ideas.
    • Assist in writing and editing website article posts, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
  3. Communications Support:

    • Support the development and execution of communication plans and campaigns.
    • Help draft press releases, media pitches, and other public relations materials.
    • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and target audiences to inform communications strategies.
  4. Administrative Tasks:

    • Assist with the organisation and maintenance of digital asset libraries.
    • Help manage the email marketing platform.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the communications and engagement team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
  • Strong eye for design.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights).
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
