Close to $20,000 raised in the New2U Thrift Shop year-end Bazaar and Sale
From 9 to 11 December 2022, New2U Thrift Shop hosted its biannual Bazaar. Second-hand goods like bags, clothes and shoes from brands like Coach, Kate Spade, Gap, Mango, Tumi, Massimo Dutti and more were displayed. There were also brand-new and second-hand items from local designers.
The three-day event received an overwhelming number of visitors and raised close to $20,000 throughout the event. The first day saw a snaking queue forming an hour before the gates were due to open, even though the weather was not favourable and the skies were grey.
The event saw close to 50 volunteers who assisted with organising the items, cleaning, setting up the shop, mending the cashier and ushering visitors. Corporate volunteers from Aiven Ltd and Dow Jones had also joined and helped us in the effort to raise funds for SCWO’s programmes and services, including supporting vulnerable women who face domestic violence, online harassment and maintenance issues.
SCWO and New2U Thrift Shop would like to thank all our visitors and volunteers who have continuously shown support throughout the year. It is with your caring support that we can do what we do.
The event rounded up the year with the volunteers taking a well-deserved break for the holidays. New2U Thrift Shop will be closed from 19 December 2022 to 29 January 2023.
