    Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations appoints new CEO

    Singapore, 3 Jan 2023 – The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) has appointed Ms Koh Yan Ping as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 3 Jan 2023. Ms Koh takes over from Ms Angel Chan, who is relocating overseas with her family.  Prior to joining SCWO, Ms Koh was the Deputy Director of the Women and Family unit (WAF) at the National Trades Union Congress, the labour movement’s initiative to support working women in Singapore through advocacy and programmes. Ms Koh was concurrently Deputy Director at the Ong Teng Cheong Labour Leadership Institute, an established centre for labour education and training in Singapore.    At WAF, Ms Koh spearheaded…

    26 November 2022 – In light of the international day of eliminating violence against women, SCWO organised a concert at The Grassroots Club to uplift women who have survived domestic violence, and to inspire the public to reach out when help is needed by noticing the signs of abuse.   With our Guest-of-Honour, Minister of State for the Ministry of Social and Family Development, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ms Sun Xueling, opened the concert with a heart-warming speech detailing the efforts the Ministry of Social and Family Development has made against violence.   The two-hour concert featured inspiring and empowering performances by volunteers who reached out to take the stage…

    SCWO Congratulates and Welcomes New Member: Fortune Times Women Empowerment Network (WEN)

    SCWO congratulates Fortune Times Women Empowerment Network (WEN) on their successful launch on 9th December and welcomes them as its newest member!     WEN is a sub-committee of the Fortune Times Media Group for women’s development. The network is a social enterprise network aimed at empowering women and networking. WEN is an initiative, where women leaders from Indonesia and Singapore, and award winners of the Women’s Empowerment Awards (WEA) can participate to contribute to society as set out in 2015 SGDs. WEN strives to bridge women in Singapore to the other countries in the region through their mission: Promoting women empowerment across education, healthcare and entrepreneurship.
