    SCWO Holds Third Session of Conversations on Women’s Development

    The third and final session of the SCWO-led Conversations on Women’s Development were held on the 16th of January 2021. In attendance were both Minister of State in the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social and Family Development, Ms Sun Xueling as well as Minister for Law and Minister for Home Affairs Mr K Shanmugam. This session focused on the issues at Home and in the Workplace and opened with a video address from Minister Shanmugam. This particular session saw the involvement of more men as compared to the previous two at 39% male participation, something we were glad to see.     Inspiring Girls Outreach at CHIJ St Theresa’s Convent

    Inspiring Girls Singapore partnered with Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) to organise an outreach session for the students of CHIJ St Theresa’s Convent. Inspiring Girls Country Chair and SCWO Board Member Jacqueline Chua opened the session. Thereafter, staff from ADM shared about their careers as flavourists and conducted hands-on tasting and smelling experiments to show the students what their job entails. The students thoroughly enjoyed this interactive session and we hope that they are now inspired to explore a career in this interesting field!

    SCWO Holds Second Session of Conversations on Women’s Development

    On December 16 2020, the SCWO held the second session of their Conversations on Women’s Development. This session was the second in a series of dialogue and engagement sessions aimed at identifying and resolving issues concerning women in Singapore. During this session, the participants – many of whom are members of our own member organisations – focused on issues within two key areas: the workplace and the community. The session served to highlight areas of concern within those two categories as well as measures that could be taken to solve them.
