Tiny Artists, Big Impact: Highlights from the AWESOME Art Competition 2023!
On 15th December 2023, SCWO’s inaugural AWESOME Art Competition closed its submissions at a whopping 94 entries, with many of the artworks featuring our recently inducted honourees. Organised with the aim to encourage young audiences to learn about the inspiring stories in the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF), the submissions saw the life journeys of the awesome women depicted in creative ways! As we looked through each of the submissions in detail – reading artwork stories alongside colourful paintings and drawings – we could not help but feel moved by the effort put into each entry. AWESOME Art Competition 2023: SCWO’s first art competition is now open for submissions!
The AWESOME Art Competition is SCWO’s first art competition organised for students and young people. As part of the efforts of our school outreach arm, Project Awesome, the art competition encourages young audiences to learn about the inspiring stories in the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF) and creates opportunities for them to think about and express their own hopes, dreams, and ambitions. Project Awesome puts up newly revamped exhibition at CHIJ Katong Convent
On Monday 15th May, the Project Awesome team put up the newly revamped edition of the roving exhibition at CHIJ Katong Convent. Presented in its thematic colour schemes, the exhibition featured a selection of 16 stories of women across five themes – Taking The Helm, Action and Adventure, Stepping Up For STEM, Creativity and Communication, and Caring and Sharing. The stories featured were those of CHIJ alumni and were displayed over the course of two weeks for students and teachers.
