    [Volunteers Required] New2U Thrift Shop- Regular shop volunteer

    New2U Thrift shop is looking for regular volunteers who can commit 3-6 months.   Our New2U thrift shops are managed entirely by volunteers, some of whom have been volunteering with New2U for many years. The shop sells pre-loved clothing, accessories, household items, ornaments, books etc. All goods are donated by the general public and are sorted and repriced by volunteers in which proceeds from the store go towards Star Shelter and the various SCWO Initiatives. Duties, very broadly, include: -Registration of customers -Temperature taking -Crowd & safety distance control -Customer service -Hanging of items on shelves, rearranging of items. -Sorting & pricing of donations-for experienced volunteers -Cashiering duties-for experienced volunteers…

    What an eventful IWD month of March 2022!!   On 8 Mar 2022, SCWO started our IWD celebration with honoring and celebrating 7 outstanding women under the Singapore Women Hall of Fame (SWHF). The high signature induction ceremony was conducted at the Istana, gracefully hosted by our Patron, President Halimah Yacob.   SCWO believes all women from all walks of life and circumstances should be celebrated, honored and supported. That’s what drives all our initiatives in SCWO.     White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development 2022 – SCWO’s Board President, Ms Junie Foo welcomes the recommendations

    Singapore, 28 Mar 2022 – The Government has released the White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development following the Conversations on Singapore Women’s Development sessions which completed last year. The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) applauds the issuance of the White Paper for Singapore women’s development, a culmination of months of gleaning ground sentiment from both men and women on issues faced by Singapore women.
