APT Women Sg Dispatch Programme
SCWO had the pleasure of co-hosting a networking and mentoring session with Deloitte Japan, for the Tokyo delegates from the Acceleration Programme in Tokyo for Women (APT Women) on 9 January 2020. The APT, supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to build a sustainable structure to support Japanese women entrepreneurs through a global network. Through this programme, these women can collaborate with organisations and mentors both locally and globally and be equipped with the skills for international expansion.
This networking and mentoring session at SCWO was part of their overseas dispatch portion of the programme to Singapore. We had 5 amazing mentors – Dr Ann Tan,an obstetrician and gynaecologist and the Medical Director of Virtus Fertility Centre; Ms Cheryl Chen, the Director of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability for Asia Pacific at S&P Global; Ms Cheryl Chong, a business analyst with Willis Towers Watson, on both the regional and client management teams; Ms Irene Boey, the Consulting Director at Integral Solutions; and Ms Serene Law, Vice-President and Co-Founder of Frozen Lime, who shared their experiences with the 10 entrepreneurs as well as provided them with insightful advice, tips and feedback on how they can further develop and expand their businesses.
As the event took place close to the Lunar New Year, the delegates were treated to a boisterous tossing of the Yu Sheng, which was first for many of them, followed by a scrumptious and delightful dinner. It was an enjoyable and fruitful one for all who attended.
