Every little step forward brings us closer towards empowering women and providing support for women in distress.
The month of August was brimming with activities in SCWO. Individuals from private corporations and organisations volunteered their time and energy. Their enthusiasm and excitement brought much cheer to SCWO and the public members who visited us.
On 6 and 7 August 2022, Room To Imagine and Imagine The World organised the Whimsical Art Market, where part of the merchandise and workshop proceeds went to SCWO. The Art Market was a vibrant affair with many unique and handmade crafts displayed for sale by local artisans and artists.
On 18 August 2022, a team of volunteers from Deloitte Singapore joined us in the preparation for SCWO’s Open House, A Night To Remember, in conjunction with the Singapore Night Festival.
The Deloitte Singapore team assisted with the clean-up and organising of the apparel and merchandise from the New2U Thrift Shop and set up the Awesome Women of Singapore Exhibition.
On 24 August 2022, SCWO, on behalf of the Star Shelter, received a generous donation of approximately $21,000.00 from Accor’s ALL Heartist fund.
Accor is a world-leading hospitality group with the same values and longstanding commitment to championing diversity, inclusion and gender equality.
On 28 August 2022, a team of 18 student volunteers from the German European School Singapore joined us and helped with the sorting and organising of the items received from the donation drive that ran from 22 August to 28 Aug.
On 30 August 2022, SCWO was heartened to receive a donation of everyday household and food items to support the residents of our Star Shelter. Penta-Ocean Construction Pte Ltd kindly delivered 78 boxes of goods, which would go a very long way in providing our residents with necessities.
Penta-Ocean is a world-renowned global Japanese engineering company specialising in complex civil land, marine and building projects, with strong principles for supporting the environment and communities.
We are grateful for the support from volunteers and donors, because their efforts take us closer towards empowering women and providing support for women in distress. With every little step forward, SCWO can raise funds in providing meaningful growth towards equal space, equal voice and equal worth.
